Raygun ranked world’s number 1 female breakdancer

SYDNEY – RayGun, the breakdancer from Australia who grabbed the world’s attention at the Paris OIympics with her unusual performance is back in the headlines.
The world rankings are out and she is the number one female breakdancer in the world.

The dancer, whose real name is Racheal Gun, sits in the top spot despite scoring a zero at the Olympics. 
Questions have been asked about the ranking system. 
The sport’s governing body has explained that each athlete was assessed based on their top four performances in the last 12 months. 
However, the Olympic events, including qualifiers were excluded. 
Gunn’s 1,000 points place her at the top of the table, after a first-place finish at the Oceania continental championships held in October. 
All of this has sparked questions on whether breakdancing should be included at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. 
Many argue that the organic nature of the genre doesn’t suit organised competition.
